In a society that sometimes feels chaotic and overwhelming, it's easy to believe that only external forces or important personalities can bring about change.
We sometimes find ourselves waiting for someone else to step up and make a difference, oblivious to the great power we possess.
To truly "be the change we wish to see in the world," one must lead by example and practice what they preach. By acting with kindness and compassion in our daily lives, we can set a good example for others around us. We can all help promote tolerance and acceptance by learning about other cultures and customs and actively seeking out interactions with people from all backgrounds.
It's easy to feel powerless in the face of seemingly intractable societal problems, yet we can all make a difference by acting individually. One method to make the world a better place is to mimic the characteristics and deeds we like to see in others.
